Enrichment Class Fun!

Ms. Hannah had a wonderful enrichment class today for all of our kiddos! We have spotlighted our toddlers this time. Their excitement to catch fish today was very contagious! The squeals of delight as each friend made a catch has us all rolling with laughter!

Shaving cream sensory play is a textural wonderland that changes and reforms in your hands. Adding color enables swirls and patterns to form and burying and hiding toys in the foam adds to the sense of discovery and play. Shaving cream encourages children to manipulate and mold materials, building their fine motor skills and coordination. Who knew shaving cream could be so fun?!

It's a Great Day to be a Baby!

We have smiles & snuggles galore with our Academy babies. Here's a peek at a day in the life of our babies in their classes. In addition to our daily care routines our days are enriched with puppet play, sensory play, outside time & so much more. Take a look at these happy faces!

Fresh Air & Fun

Well, we went from snowy weather last week to beautiful sunshine this week! Our friends have taken full advantage of it & are soaking up all the rays they can!

Infant 3 was busy with our dot markers this morning! Even for our friends who do not quite have all the words yet, this activity will help with self-expression and communication. Having this age group freely explore their creative side will also help with fine motor skills and hand control. Our friends loved being in control of their own art and watching others do so as well.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt...

The children's story, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen, offers a good metaphor for the journey we take towards healing. This book is a classic piece of children's literature to illustrate the internal conflict within our minds that often trips us up. Ms. Dawn's class created a wonderful class memory by first reading the book, then creating their very own binoculars & last turning out the lights & acting out the happenings of the book. Take a look at the fun!

Hooray for a Snow Day!

What a wonderful surprise we had Monday morning- SNOW! Classes of all ages enjoyed playing with the snow. Our sweet babies were able to explore the cold snow in a sensory bin while our older children had a blast running around, throwing snowballs & making miniature snowmen!
