Gratitude and Giving at AOSL!

This week at AoSL was filled with autumn fun, creative costumes, joyful celebrations, and meaningful moments of gratitude as we embraced the spirit of the season!

Along with all the festive activities, we also kicked off our Angel Tree Giving this week—a heartwarming tradition that allows our AoSL community to give back and support families in need. It has been wonderful to see our students, families, and staff come together not only to celebrate but also to share kindness and generosity with others during this special time of year.

We began the week by creating beautiful gratitude chains, an activity that encouraged our preschoolers to reflect on the people, experiences, and moments they are thankful for. What made this project especially meaningful was the involvement of our families—many of whom contributed their own gratitude links from home. Seeing these colorful chains grow longer each day reminded us of the strong, connected, and caring community we are lucky to be part of.

On Wednesday, November 19th, we continued the festivities with our adorable Scarecrow Dress-Up Day. The halls were lined with little scarecrows dressed in flannel shirts, straw hats, and warm fall colors. The creativity and charm in each outfit made the day extra special.

On Thursday, November 20th, families enjoyed a cheerful morning treat during our annual Gobble & Go. Parents were invited to stop by the front lobby to pick up freshly baked muffins—a simple yet heartwarming way to share a bit of Thanksgiving spirit. We loved seeing everyone swing by with smiles!

Today, we wrapped up the week with our exciting Turkey Trot. The children raced around with colorful bibs on their backs, cheering on their friends and celebrating the joy of movement. The event became even more magical when Tom the Turkey made a special surprise visit! The children were thrilled to see him waddle by, wave hello, and cheer them on as they ran. Their laughter and excitement made this tradition even more memorable.

Events like these showcase the joy, creativity, and community spirit that make AoSL such a wonderful place for families. We are grateful for our amazing students, supportive families, and dedicated staff who help make each celebration memorable—and for the generous hearts helping us make a difference through our Angel Tree Giving.

We wish everyone a warm, restful, and happy Thanksgiving week ahead!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was extra special this year at AoSL as our little ghosts, superheroes, princesses, and animals filled the halls with excitement for our annual Trick-or-Treat Parade!

The day was full of laughter and smiles as the children, dressed in their creative and colorful costumes, paraded from classroom to classroom, collecting sweet treats from their teachers and friends. From superheroes to storybook characters, our preschoolers brought the magic of Halloween to life during our Trick-or-Treat Parade.

Our teachers joined in the fun too—donning their own festive costumes and making the day even more magical for the kids.

It was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up as they proudly showed off their costumes, practiced saying “Trick or treat!”, and shared in the joy of celebrating together. Events like this remind us how special our preschool community truly is—full of creativity, friendship, and fun.

A big thank you to all the families for helping their little ones prepare their costumes and to our amazing staff for making this event such a memorable one. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
