Jumping into 2026 at AoSL

Jumping into 2026 at AoSL! ❄️✨

We’ve spent the first two weeks of January getting back into the swing of things at AoSL. Our friends have enjoyed a variety of in-class activities and games as they settled comfortably into the new year.

One of the highlights was our Snowman Grab & Go activity! Friends were given bags filled with edible pieces to build their very own snowman. Pretzels became snowy arms, marshmallows were used as snowballs, orange candy served as carrots, and chocolate dots completed the snowman with eyes and buttons. This fun and tasty activity brought lots of smiles to the classroom.

Our classrooms also hosted an Arctic Scavenger Hunt, where teachers hid arctic-themed toys throughout the room and invited friends to search for them. Our friends had so much fun exploring and discovering the animals tucked away in hidden places.

Creativity continued with our Hot Cocoa Mug Craft, where friends created a cozy hot cocoa-themed art project. Using brown paint and little fingers, they crafted “chocolate” designs, making this sensory-rich activity a favorite among our artists.

We also enjoyed our annual “Sneezy the Snowman” reading. Friends gathered at the front for story time and were able to participate in our enrichment area, making the experience both engaging and memorable.

The start of 2026 has been filled with joy, creativity, and togetherness, and we’re excited for all the fun still to come at AoSL! ❄️💙

Happy Holidays at AOSL

Happy Holidays at AoSL ✨🎄

After our Christmas Spirit Week, we wrapped up our Angel Tree gift giving, and we couldn’t be prouder of our families. Thanks to the incredible participation from our parents, we ended up with a room full of beautifully wrapped presents for our angels. The generosity and kindness shown truly captured the spirit of the season.

We entered the week of Christmas with our much-loved Breakfast with Santa celebration. Our friends were delighted by a variety of special guests, including a giant nutcracker and a living Christmas tree that brought extra magic to the day. Of course, the excitement peaked when Santa Claus himself made a special appearance! Outside under the portico, friends enjoyed a festive horse-drawn carriage ride, while inside we stayed cozy with warm cups of hot chocolate.

Creativity continued in the classrooms with Fingerprint Candy Cane making, which was a huge hit—especially with our Toddler class. Using green and blue paint, friends created festive candy canes on paper, enjoying a hands-on activity that blended art and holiday fun.

Our Pre-K2 friends celebrated the season with a special book exchange alongside their class party. Each child brought in a wrapped book to share with their classmates, making for a meaningful and memorable way to close out the holidays together.

We wrapped up December with a show-stopping winter surprise—a giant igloo built to welcome January’s winter chill. Made from clean, recycled milk jugs and decorated with snowflake elements, the igloo invited our friends to huddle up, explore, and enjoy the cozy warmth it provided.

Moments like these made December at AoSL truly magical, and we are so thankful for our wonderful students, families, and staff who helped make the holiday season so special. ❄️💙
