Our Infant 2 class was so excited for the NFL draft! We have several Titans families and we couldn't wait to show our support :-)

Butterfly Release!

We are loving Spring around here! It's such a fun time full of outdoor exploration. A classmate brought in a few butterflies from home for the Preschool 4 nature share, and guess what!? We set them free! What a great way to provide a hands on nature experience while teaching respect to all living creatures.

Trash to Treasure Hunt

Our classes had a "Trash to Treasure Hunt" this week. They all had a chance to visit our recycling bins to choose a few items to repurpose into their own treasures! They were so proud of their finds and enjoyed using their imagination! I love our teacher dedication to this project. The children are learning to reduce waste while having fun!

We have SPROUTS!

We have been learning all about plant and animal life cycles this month. Our kids have really enjoyed getting their hands dirty with their plants! They loved being able to squish their hands in the damp soil, drop the seeds in and one class has a station dedicated to slug searching! It is looking like all of these April showers are beginning to bring May flowers!

Getting our hands dirty!

Sprouts!

Here is a great article about kid friendly gardening:

Happy Planting!

Handwriting Without Tears

Last night we hosted an amazing training for The Academy staff. Handwriting Without Tears is a component of our Get Set for School curriculum. This curriculum prepares our Preschool and Pre-K children for kindergarten! We had lots of fun and were able to share ideas and gather resources. Thanks for a great training, Lauren Halloway!

Williamson County Recycling Center

A big thanks to them for coming out and talking with our kids about the importance of recycling. She also read a couple of recycling themed stories to the kids. Big thanks!

On that Farm...

We milked a cow! The kids practiced "milking" a cow during our farm unit and had a great time. There were tons of giggles during this activity.

Rainy Day picnics.

What do you do when it won't stop raining?! You pretend it's sunny and we are outside having a picnic. The kids had a blast eating on the carpets in class!

Green Our Scene art

It's been a great month of recycling and reusing! The kids have had a great time picking recycled items to turn into great art.

Click Clack Moo

This month is all about the farm so reading Click Clack Moo was the perfect book to share with the kids this week. They loved this adorable story.

Gardening fun!

Spring is here and that means time for fresh flowers. The kids in PS 2 had a blast planting this week.
