Spring Planting

It's officially spring here! Our Pre-K 1 class was busy planting their very own plants this morning. One of our students brought in enough for everyone to enjoy and learn about the process of seeds-to-plants. We can not wait to see what each brings!

Exploring New Tastes

Infant 2 was exploring a few new tastes today! Some of them were loved, and others, not so much. Most of our infants at this age have dabbled into our school menu by now and are very opinionated about what they like and do not like. It is important to have them taste and feel the food on their own so they can use all their senses while eating a meal. It allows them to think about how something feels and even smells. Using all these senses is how most children begin to choose their own taste pallet and decide what they like.

Just a bit of color...

To say it was a bit messy is a total understatement! Pre-K 1 practically turned themselves blue and purple over this fun sensory activity. It's just shaving cream and food coloring but they had the best time! Doing this type of sensory is an important part of developing imagination at this age. Touching and feeling something to create a permanent opinion or thought about a certain object or idea. We love that our teachers are not afraid to let the kids explore like this and are just as excited as them to participate!

Superhero Day!

Special dress up day in the Pre K classes! The kids love to have extra fun days when they can be whoever they want. They played their characters out on the playground and had a great time using their imaginations with their friends. This is a huge part of developing empathy and understanding of others in their early years.

Almost there!

As Pre-K 1 nears the end of the alphabet, they are eXploring the letter "x." Using their visual sense and learning "x" is for x-ray! Both of our Pre-K classes are doing a great job with their creativity!
