AOSL Food Drive & Fireworks Show

AOSL Food Drive & Fireworks Show

The Academy of Seaboard Lane recently hosted a food drive, and we are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our families. Thanks to your donations, we were able to deliver a carload of food to GraceWorks Ministries Food Pantry. From canned vegetables and beans to pasta and other pantry staples, your contributions provided a wide variety of items to help support local families in need. Thank you for helping us make a positive impact in our community!

As we prepared for the Fourth of July holiday, our students also enjoyed a special Fireworks Show designed to help them become familiar with what they might experience during Independence Day celebrations. Using colorful lights projected onto the classroom wall, our friends explored the bright colors, patterns, and movements of fireworks in a fun, calm, and sensory-friendly environment. This experience gave children the opportunity to learn about fireworks while helping them feel more comfortable and prepared for the sights they may see during a real fireworks display.

AOSL June Recap: Water Days, Alumni Visits, Curriculum & Mor

June was packed with exciting activities and unforgettable memories at AOSL!

We kicked off the month with the return of Water Days, and our friends had an absolute blast! Our Pre-Kindergarten students enjoyed sliding down a giant water slide bounce house, our Preschool friends cooled off with Edward the Frog, and our Toddler friends splashed and played in a fun-filled giant splash pad.

We also welcomed one of our Kindergarten alumni back to AOSL for a special visit. He shared his experiences about transitioning to kindergarten, including what it's like to eat in the cafeteria and some of the differences between AOSL and elementary school. Our Pre-Kindergarten students enjoyed asking questions and learning firsthand what they can expect, helping them feel more confident and prepared for this exciting next step.

During Academy Lab Week, our students were treated to a special science presentation from the Mad Scientist, Dr. Oz! He introduced our friends to oobleck, a fascinating substance that behaves like both a solid and a liquid. Students had the opportunity to make their own oobleck while learning about its unique properties through hands-on exploration and discovery.

June was filled with laughter, learning, and memorable experiences, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!
