Green Eggs and Ham!
We had a great week filled with all things Dr. Seuss. We ended the week with a yummy snack of "green eggs and ham". The kids loved it.

PS 2 cuties!
Ms. Shani and Ms. Catie got some great pictures of their class using their imaginations and just be plain ole adorable!
Read Across America!
Prek 2 continued to have a great week of Dr. Seuss themed fun in their class! A great lesson inspired by Green Eggs and Ham was the teachers giving the kids water with blue food coloring and the V8 Fruit Splash with black food coloring. The kids were hesitant to try the black juice and excited to taste the blue "juice". You can imagine their surprise when they tasted both and loved the fruit juice! The lesson here - Don't judge a book by its cover! Great job ladies.
The kids were also able to bring a "wocket" hidden in their pockets to school. The kids got up in front of their peers and gave clues as to what they brought and the class had a blast guessing. Another great activity in Pre-K 2!

Fly Traps!
To kick off our Monthly Theme of "Bugs", Preschool 2 made fly traps and caught "flies" today! This week we are talking about mosquitoes and flies! We had so much fun chasing the flies (tissue paper) as they floated through the classroom!
Letter V.
Pre-K 2 was hard at work last week working on the letter V. Their handwriting improves each day as our teachers continue to prepare them for kindergarten. They are all doing so well.
The Piano Man
We had a great guest last week for our "black and white" week with the Nashville Piano Academy coming out to talk to the kids about playing the piano. They even had the opportunity to play and learn some keys on their own. If you want additional information we have it in the vestibule. It was a great visit and the kids had a really good time!
Making Circles!
Pre-K 2 had a great time creating their shape of the week by using paper towel rolls to create circles!

Valentine's Day Celebrations!
What a great time we had spreading our love for Valentine's Day this year! Our teachers each planned their own parties complete with Valentine boxes, games, gifts and treats! We love to love every day here at AoSL!
I bet there were lots of sugar crashes that evening!
