Kindergarten Boot Camp

Kindergarten Boot Camp, offered exclusively by Never Grow Up, is a dedicated summer program that teaches important, yet often overlooked, skills needed to navigate kindergarten with confidence. Skills such as remembering a lunch number, carrying a lunch tray or returning a library book are examples of how we “train” our Academy kids to “be all they can be”!

It's safe to say Kindergarten Boot Camp is off to a fantastic start at AoSL!

Kindergarten Teacher Visits!

Today we had a very special guest visit from a local elementary school teacher! Mr. Austin answered all of our rising kindergartners' questions about kindergarten! He even brought along his iPad and showed us videos from other kindergarten teachers. They talked about what it is to come in kindergarten. Needless to say, we are all SUPER excited.

Splish Splashing Fun

Water play never disappoints! All classes from infants to Pre-K had a terrific time with water tables galore, a bounce house & a water slide. So much fun was had by all & we can't wait until next week to do it all over again!

Seed Exploration

Preschool 4 had a great sensory project with seeds. Ms. Kassidy used an apple, a potato, a lemon & a green pepper for this idea. She sliced them in half & each child was able to determine whether or not seeds were inside of the fruit or vegetable. Afterwards they used these foods as stamps & created awesome art pieces!

Homemade "Donuts"

A few of our classes did a cute Pinterest-inspired activity! They sliced apple rings, had the their classes cover the apple rings with frosting & added sprinkles. Voila, donuts! The kids loved spreading the icing & loved trying their creations even more. A+ for creativity to our teachers!

Chopped Jr. Week

We are so excited to get going with our theme of Chopped Jr. this week! Ms. Anitha's class started off with a terrific fine motor pizza craft. Each child loaded up their pizzas with toppings that they chose themselves. They worked their fine motor skills by picking up the small pieces & gluing them on their pizzas! Afterwards they played a fun game of "Feed the Chef". Ms. Anitha used pictures of her class & attached them to paper bags. She then had her class choose the snack to feed their chefs & they stuffed them in the bags making their tummies full. It was super creative & the kids had a blast!
